Javier Alcarria Moreno joined Napa Valley 1839 FC as Technical Director in 2021, bringing a wealth of experience in player development, scouting, and football operations. A former professional player and entrepreneur, Alcarria’s diverse background in both European and American soccer landscapes made him an invaluable addition to the club’s leadership.
Originally from Castellón, Spain, Alcarria began his footballing journey with Villarreal CF and CD Castellón, where he developed as a player within two of Spain’s most respected professional clubs. His early experience in the Spanish football system instilled in him a strong technical foundation and tactical awareness, which would later shape his coaching and managerial approach.
Alcarria later moved to the United States, playing collegiately at Barton College in North Carolina before continuing his career with clubs such as Atlanta Silverbacks and Tobacco FC. His time in the U.S. provided him with a unique perspective, blending the technical precision of Spanish football with the dynamic, high-intensity approach of the American game.
Beyond his playing career, Alcarria demonstrated a strong aptitude for club development and talent identification. Prior to joining Napa Valley 1839 FC, he successfully launched his own football academy, FC Odisea Academy, aimed at developing young talent with a structured, long-term vision. His entrepreneurial mindset and deep understanding of football operations allowed him to implement modern scouting techniques, data-driven player analysis, and strategic recruitment strategies.
As Technical Director, Alcarria played a crucial role in shaping Napa Valley 1839 FC’s footballing identity, overseeing recruitment, player development, and tactical implementation. His leadership helped the club strengthen its competitive edge, fostering a culture of growth, professionalism, and innovation within the squad.
Alcarria’s time at Napa Valley 1839 FC further solidified his reputation as a forward-thinking football executive, laying the foundation for future ventures in coaching, player development, and club management.
